With an excellent collective performance and a lot of commitment, Flamengo started ahead of São Paulo in the first duel of the semifinal of the Brazilian Women's Under-17 Championship, played on Tuesday afternoon (21), at Arena Morro das Pedras. Rubro-Negro won 2-0, with goals from Jamile and Kaylane Vieira, and depends only on itself to reach the final of the competition. 

The game

Maintaining the same strategy as the group stage, Filipe Torres' team began by applying pressure and making it difficult for São Paulo to get the ball out. It worked, and after a back-and-forth in the box, the ball hit the opposing defender's arm. The referee signaled a penalty, and Jamile slotted it into the corner: 1-0. The advantage boosted the Gávea Girls' morale and gave them a sense of calm until halftime.

In the second half, Kaylane Vieira extended the lead with a perfect shot from the edge of the box in the first play. Dominant and imposing like Flamengo, the Meninas da Gávea left everything on the field until the last second. The defense, led by Emilly—who had an inspired afternoon and shut down São Paulo's attack—wasn't troubled at all. Also noteworthy is the full-back duo of Gi Cabral and Amanda. In the middle, Cerqueira and Larissa commanded, and the final result was inevitable: a 2-0 victory.

The teams will face each other again on Thursday (23), at 8:30 am, on the same stage as today's duel.
