It was with emotion! On the morning of this Thursday (23), Flamengo advanced to the grand final of the Brazilian Women's Under-17 Championship. After a defeat in normal time and a draw on aggregate, Mais Querido beat São Paulo 5-4 in penalty kicks and secured their spot. Ju Bittencourt decisively saved one, saw the opponent's final shot go out of bounds, and the red-and-blacks celebrated on the Morro das Pedras Arena pitch.

The game

The match started off quite competitive and tense, with few scoring chances. The first came from Emilly, a free kick taken from a long distance. After the timeout, the tone remained the same, and the score remained 0-0 until halftime.

In the second half, Kaylane made a beautiful play against the two, but was blocked. Soon after, Jamile received a great pass from Larissa and almost scored. São Paulo opened the scoring with Giovana Coutinho and extended the lead with Vitorinha. This result tied the score on aggregate, and the decision went to penalties. Ju Bittencourt shone in the shootout and made a beautiful save. Five Meninas da Gávea converted: Sofia, Amanda, Kaylane Vieira, Dudinha, and Emilly. The opposing team's last shot went wide, and the crowd erupted in joy: 5-4, and Flamengo QUALIFIED.

The final will be next Saturday (23), against Grêmio or Internacional. There is no definition of time and place yet.
