Flamengo was represented on Tuesday morning (15) during the visit of the Ministers of Sport, George Hilton, and Defense, Aldo Rebelo, to the centers for the preparation and training of military and civilian athletes for the Rio-2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. At an event held at the Navy's Almirante Adalberto Nunes Physical Education Center (CEFAN), the women's soccer team - Rio de Janeiro champion and two-time military world champion - presented Rebelo and Hilton, each, with a Sacred Mantle. The vice-president of Rubro-Negro, Maurício Gomes de Mattos, was also present.

Presentation of the Navy Olympic Program
In the CEFAN auditorium, Rear Admiral Carlos Chagas, who is also president of the Navy Sports Commission and commander of the Physical Education Center, presented PROLIM - the Navy Olympic Program - to authorities, athletes and the press, which promises to help transform Brazil into an Olympic powerhouse, fostering high performance and promoting social inclusion through sport.

Within this idea, there is the PROFESP - Forças No Esporte Program, which Flamengo will become part of with the partnership signed between the Brazilian Navy and the red-black rowing team, which aims to develop citizens and champions. Today, PROFESP serves more than 300 children from underprivileged communities adjacent to CEFAN.

Before rowing, women's football was the sport that motivated the first partnership of the club with the Brazilian Navy.

Representative in judo
Also among the athletes at the ceremony was Barbara Timo, a judoka from the Brazilian Navy and the Red and Black team. She is a member of the Brazilian women's national team.
