By Romulo Paranhos - inIn the debut of the Brazilian Women's Championship, Flamengo/Marinha was beaten by Santos 4-0 on Saturday afternoon (08) at the Ulrico Mursa stadium, in São Paulo. In the next round, Mais Querido will play at home against Ponte Preta.
The game
The match started evenly, with both teams looking to attack. Early on, Flamengo/Marinha had two chances to open the scoring with goals from Camila and Rafaela Barros. But Santos took the lead, scoring the first goal in the 17th minute. The Meninas da Gávea still had a chance to equalize. Ana Carla's free kick went just wide of the post. The first half ended with Santos leading 1-0.
The Meninas da Gávea returned for the second half, attacking Santos. Despite Santos's dominance of the ball, Santos scored three consecutive goals: the second in the 16th minute, the third in the 20th, and the fourth in the 24th minute. In the end, the home team won the match 4-0.
Now, Flamengo/Marinha faces Ponte Preta in the second round of the Brazilian Women's Championship. The match will be held next Wednesday (12), in Rio de Janeiro, with no location yet defined.
