In Canindé, Flamengo/Marinha meets Portuguesa-SP again
Teams faced each other last week and begin the return leg of the Brazilian Championship

Flamengo/Marinha begins its journey in the second round of the Brazilian Women's Football Championship this Wednesday (13), when it faces Portuguesa-SP, at 15 pm, at the Canindé stadium. The match is valid for the 8th round of the competition, which was brought forward thanks to the military commitments of the red-black athletes.
The Meninas da Gávea occupy second place in Group 2, with 12 points, three wins, three draws and one loss.

In the first stage of the competition, the teams face each other in a home-and-away format. Then, the top four clubs from each of the two groups advance to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. All matches will be played in home-and-away format. The Brazilian champion also secures a spot in the 2019 Copa Libertadores.

Portuguesa is second-to-last in the group, with one win, two draws, and four losses in seven games. The São Paulo team is coming off two losses, a 3-0 loss to Taubaté in the Campeonato Paulista and a XNUMX-XNUMX loss to Flamengo in the Brasileirão.
Retrospect
This will be the third meeting between the teams. In 2015, Flamengo/Marinha's first year in the Brasileirão, the red-and-blacks faced Portuguesa at Gávea Stadium and won 4-0. Karen, Ana, Gaby, and Roberta scored the goals.
