After completing half of the preseason at CEFAN and the other half in Pinheiral, it's time for Flamengo to take the field in 2023! This Sunday morning (5), the Meninas da Gávea will face Ceará, at 10:30 am, at Luso Brasileiro, in a match valid for the quarterfinals of the Women's Super Cup. There will be no ticket sales and to watch the match is simple: just bring 1 kg of non-perishable food. Globo and SporTV will broadcast live.

With the backbone maintained and six signings made (Thais Regina, Nath Pitbull, Karol Alves, Louvain, Tuca and Agustina), Mais Querido starts the year on a high note due to winning the Brasil Ladies Cup in the final stretch of 2022. If they win the duel against the Ceará team, the team led by Luis Andrade will face Avaí Kindermann or Real Brasília in the semifinal stage, also at home. 

"We know that the debut generates some anxiety, and we worked hard on that during the week with the athletes. We've finished our preparations, and I see the group fully prepared for a match that's worth a spot in the semifinals of the first competition of the season. It will be our reunion with the Red-Black Nation, and we want to put on a great performance," the coach said.

Tournament format

Eight clubs are divided into two groups, and the competition will be a single-game knockout format. Because of their higher ranking, the Rubro-Negro will host the team from Pará.
