February 23rd will forever be etched in the minds of those who intensely experience Flamengo's women's football because of its diversity. of stories that revolve around a game. On Monday morning, the Under-20 team - with the participation of six athletes who are part of the main team - thrashed Real Heips 7-0 in Fabi Simões' return to the pitch. Wearing the mythical number 10 jersey, the athlete was emotional in the locker room and was fundamental to the victory. The goals were scored by Bruna (2), Letícia Pinho (2) and Nicolly Manuel - both only fifteen years old -, Jamile and Nicoli. 

The game

With an offensive DNA, Flamengo didn't let their opponent breathe for a single minute. The pressure largely came from Ana Papel and Nicoli in the beginning. The number 5 forced the goalkeeper to make a real miracle save with a beautiful individual play and, from the resulting corner kick, opened the scoring with a shoulder goal. With the lead, the team maintained the pressure and Fabi Simões almost scored the second. At 37', in another set-piece play, Bruna deflected the ball and Jamile only had to push it into the back of the net: 2-0. Until halftime, what was seen on the field was a recital by Fabi. The right-back – playing as a winger – had good flashes of brilliance and provided a lot of guidance to the newcomers.

On their return, Flamengo were overwhelming. The introduction of Nicolly Manuel raised the pace of the team led by Filipe Torres, and many chances were created. Three minutes in, Ana Laura delivered a great through ball to Fabi Simões, who entered the penalty area and rolled the ball to Nicolly, who finished with class: 3-0. The generational goal was celebrated enthusiastically by everyone present at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium.

At 14 minutes, Maisa took a perfect corner kick and Bruna rose higher than everyone else to finish: 4-0. The substitutions maintained the dynamism and the fifth goal came in practically the same way: Maisa crossed, Nicolly Manuel flicked it on, and Bruna finished. In the final stretch, Letícia Pinho took center stage and shone. At 41 minutes, the number 6 received the ball from Ana Laura, dribbled past two defenders, and shot into the corner: 6-0. Immediately afterwards, the midfielder took advantage of the rebound and placed a shot to seal the rout: 7-0 on a special, unforgettable, and historic morning.

Next appointment

While the professional team trains during the FIFA international break, the Under-20s return to play on Sunday (1), against Fluminense, away from home, for the category's Rio Cup.
