Flamengo defeated Grêmio in the final of the Brazilian Women's Under-17 Championship on penalties
The match ended in a 2-2 draw after regulation time. Sofia and Emily scored for the Red-Blacks at Independência Stadium.

In the grand final of the Brazilian Women's Under-17 Championship, Flamengo drew 2-2 with Grêmio, on Saturday afternoon (25), at Arena Independência-MG. Sofia and Emily scored the red-black goals in normal time. In the penalties, Rubro-Negro ended up being defeated 5-3 and finished as runner-up.
The game
The Meninas da Gávea started the match by taking the initiative and trying to maintain possession in attack. In the eighth minute, Grêmio opened the scoring. Nicoli beat the defense to a cross into the box and headed it in, making it 1-0.
After the goal, the red-and-black team tried to react quickly, but struggled to penetrate the Grêmio defense. In the 34th minute, Mengão equalized. Laís crossed into the box, and Sofia headed the ball into the net, scoring the first goal: 1-1.
A minute later, Grêmio took the ball out of play and quickly scored their second goal. Ana Papel received the ball inside the box and fired a first-time shot into the right corner of the red-and-black goalkeeper's net: 2-1. The first half ended with the opponents in the lead.
Flamengo came out for the second half, maintaining more possession in attack, but still struggled to create chances. In the 15th minute, Kaylane Vieira dribbled past her marker and took a shot from the edge of the box, but the ball went over the goal.
In the 22nd minute, Maikely was released at speed, entered the box, and was brought down. The referee awarded the penalty. Kaylane Vieira stepped up to take the shot, and the goalkeeper jumped in the corner to make the save.
In the 33rd minute, Mengão leveled the score again, with two minutes remaining in regulation. Isabela Nunes took a free kick into the box, and after a rebound, Emily finished for the goal: 2-2. With the draw, the decision went to penalties.
In the penalty shootout, Grêmio prevailed and won 5-3. With this result, Flamengo finished as runner-up in the Brazilian Women's Under-17 Championship.
