We never forget our first goal wearing the Manto: at 18 years old, Gica scored his on a special night
The striker, who tied the match against São Paulo with his family in the stands, is moved: "The feeling is unique"

Chosen to replace star player Darlene 14 minutes into the first half, right in the Meninas da Gávea's debut in the Brasileirão Feminino (Women's Championship), the forward faced São Paulo, her former club. The story, then, can be told from there. The Mais Querido (Most Beloved) was trailing 1-0 in a tough and hard-fought match. After the break, the team didn't give up and equalized with a stunning goal. The author? Herself: Gica. There was no better way to score the first goal for Mengão.
"I was very happy with the goal and the team's commitment. The feeling is unique. It's a great feeling and a huge joy to score my first goal for Flamengo. It couldn't have been better... I'm realizing a dream. I'm sure I'll achieve much more," he said.
In the stands at Luso Brasileiro were the striker's biggest supporters: her mother, father, and brother. All three had traveled from São Paulo to watch the match. The joy was shared by the family.
"Having my family with me was, and always will be, very important. We're always together, no matter the place. They are my foundation, my wealth. When I scored the goal and looked up at the stands, I was moved. They dedicate their lives to my dream every day. Being able to experience this moment and share all these feelings is priceless," he declared, tears welling up in his eyes.
The 18-year-old forward expressed pride in her teammates' dedication. For the number 21, coach Luis Andrade's instructions were crucial to improving the team's performance.
"It was very satisfying to see the team's commitment. We fell behind and didn't let the pace drop. We went to the locker room, the coach gave us several instructions, showed us where we needed to improve, and we came back stronger for the second half. We managed to equalize and put a lot of pressure on the opponent. The team deserves congratulations for their commitment and unity," he concluded.
With Gica, the red-black squad will return this afternoon and begin preparations for next Sunday's match (13), against Cresspom, in Brasília.
