To win again, Flamengo/Marinha faces Foz Cataratas/Coritiba

The girls from Gávea go to Foz do Iguaçu for the fourth round duel

After two home matches, Flamengo/Marinha travels to the sequence of the Brazilian Women's Football Championship A-1. This Thursday (17), Mais Querido faces Foz Cataratas, at 20 pm, at the Pedro Basso stadium, in Foz do Iguaçu (PR). Currently, the Meninas da Gávea has one win, one draw and one loss in the competition.

In the last round, Flamengo ended up drawing 1-1 with Rio Preto. Playing at Gávea, Dany Helena opened the scoring in the first half, but Flamengo conceded the equalizer early in the second half. Down a player due to Bia's red-and-black sending-off, the red-and-blacks tried but failed to change the score.

Dispute system
In the first stage of the competition, the teams face each other in a home-and-away format. Then, the top four clubs from each of the two groups advance to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. All matches will be played in home-and-away format. The Brazilian champion also secures a spot in the 2019 Copa Libertadores.

the opponent
Foz Cataratas is coming off a loss in the Brazilian Women's Championship. After beating Audax in the first round and drawing with Portuguesa, the Paraná team failed to beat Santos at Vila Belmiro and lost 2-1.

Retrospect
The teams have met only twice in the competition's history, both times last year. In the final round of the first half, "Mais Querido" hosted the Paraná team in Los Larios, Duque de Caxias, and won 5-2. Pâmela and Bárbara scored twice, and Jane completed the scoring for "Rubro-Negro."
 
In the eighth round, Fla went to the Pedro Basso stadium, in Foz do Iguaçu, and defeated Foz/Coritiba 1-0. The goal was scored by Carol in the second half.
