Flamengo U-18 match postponed due to weather conditions
The second half of the duel with Vitória will be rescheduled for Monday (15)
By Mariana Sa - inThis Sunday (14), Flamengo's women's football team experienced a historic moment. With heavy rain at the Ademir Cunha Stadium, in Paulista (PE), the red-blacks played the first match of the category, valid for the Brazilian Under-18 Championship. In a difficult confrontation, the score remained 1-1 until half-time, when the match was stopped due to the conditions of the pitch. The goal was scored by Thalita.
By decision of the referee, the second half of the duel will be played this Monday (15), at 15 pm, at the same location. The other match in Group E between Vitória-PE and São Francisco-BA was also moved to the following day.

The game
Flamengo started strong. Just two minutes in, after putting pressure on their opponents, Vitória's goalkeeper made a mistake, and Thalita took advantage to make history, scoring the first goal in the U-18 category's history. Afterward, the opponent tried to scare Marcela, but Flamengo was the better team.
In the 10th minute, however, Emily came out in a good position and managed to equalize the match at the Bahia team's first opportunity. Even with the heavy rain and the damaged pitch, the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) continued to press forward. Good plays from Thalita, Tuane, and Maria Peck exposed spaces in Vitória's defense, which they exploited during the first 45 minutes. The score remained the same: 1-1.
