Saturday's victory in the derby, away from home! Playing at São Januário Stadium, the Meninas da Gávea defeated Vasco 2-1 this afternoon. With the victory, Flamengo rests at the top of the table and remains undefeated in the tournament.

"We knew it would be a tough game; Flamengo and Vasco are always a fiercely contested match at their home ground. I wanted to dedicate my goal to someone, my uncle, who passed away yesterday. May he watch over our family from above," declared Isadora, who opened the scoring in the derby.

The game

The first chance of the duel fell to the opponent, but the first goal of the match went to Vasco: in the 12th minute, birthday girl Isador collected a rebound from the goalkeeper and showed opportunism to find the net. Vasco didn't pose any more threats throughout the first half. In the 19th minute, Flamengo counterattacked well, but Crivelari was in an offside position. In the 40th minute, Isadora found Gisseli on the left, but the ball went too far. Soon after, the second goal for Vasco almost came after Cris stole the ball. Before the end of the first half, Jucinara lifted the ball into the box and Daiane narrowly missed reaching it.

Trailing, Vasco began the second half looking to attack more. In the 21st minute, Vasco forced goalkeeper Bárbara for the first time in the match, and the red-and-black made a great save, but the next minute came the equalizer with a corner kick: 1-1. In the 41st minute, Vasco came close to turning the match around with a good run from Pimenta on the left; from the corner kick, Crivelari collected the rebound from Vasco's goalkeeper and shot from point-blank range, but Bibi saved it, deflecting it to the goal line. From another corner, this time from the left, Jucinara lifted the ball into the box, and the ball grazed Vasco defender Ladaga's head before finding the back of the net, an own goal that restored Vasco's lead.
