Needing to win to reach the final of the Brasileirão Feminino, Flamengo/Marinha faces Corinthians
After a 2-1 defeat in the first leg of the semi-final, Rubro-Negras are only thinking about reversing the result to continue dreaming about the title.
By Rafael Rezende - inThe setback in Cariacica is in the past, and now Flamengo/Marinha must win to advance to the Brazilian Women's Championship final. At Parque São Jorge, the Meninas da Gávea will face Corinthians at 14 p.m. in the second leg of the semifinal. Since there's no advantage in the rules, any victory for the Mais Querido, by a single goal, will send the match to penalties. Anything more than that will result in direct qualification.
So far, the season record is eleven wins, three draws, and four losses. The team has scored 50 goals and conceded 12.
Kaká pointed out the path to be followed and showed determination:
"Expectations are always high. We've been working hard to play good football, and we're focused. We know the importance of the game, and only victory matters. Regardless of whether it goes to penalties, we'll go for the result. We really want to reach the final."
Larissa aligned her speech with the goalkeeper and emphasized the importance of maintaining concentration throughout the ninety minutes:
"This match is the most important of the competition. Corinthians eliminated us last year, and we want to change history this time. Our team is qualified and has been training hard. I think we have every chance of coming away with a victory. We are focused and will strive to qualify."
Match history
The teams have already faced each other on six occasions: two in 2017, two in 2018 and two in 2019. There were two victories for Flamengo, four for Corinthians, eight goals for and twelve against.
