Preparation for the second phase of the Brasileirão Sub-18 finalized!

The girls from Gávea will travel to Sorocaba soon; the first match will be on Monday (16), against Internacional

On Saturday morning (14), Flamengo held its last training session in Rio de Janeiro before traveling to Sorocaba, where it will play the second phase of the Brasileirão Sub-18. During almost a month of preparation, the team played some training matches against the professional team and several activities in two periods.


In the first stage of the most important youth competition, the Meninas da Gávea won four games, drew one, and lost one. They scored 12 goals and conceded only three. Forward Duda Rodrigues (3) is the top scorer. 


In Group H, the Red-Blacks will face Internacional, Corinthians, and Santos, in order. The top two teams will advance to the semifinals, which will be a home-and-away format. Recovered from COVID-19, forward Mariana Fernandes appeared very calm as she assessed the situation.

"We've finished our preparations, and our expectations are sky-high. We finished the first phase very well, and we're confident. We've finalized the details, fixed some things that needed improving, and now we're going all out to get through to the semifinals," he said.
