It's knockout time. This Sunday (9), Flamengo/Marinha will go to the Municipal Stadium of Caçador to face Kindermann (SC), at 15 pm. The match is valid for the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Women's Football Championship A-1 and is extremely important in the search for the second national championship.

The Meninas da Gávea finished the first phase of the Brasileirão with 27 points from 14 games, including eight wins, three draws, and three losses. The red-and-blacks scored 33 goals and conceded 17.

In the first stage of the competition, the teams face each other in a home-and-away format. Then, the top four clubs from each of the two groups advance to the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. All matches will be played in home-and-away format. The Brazilian champion also secures a spot in the 2019 Copa Libertadores.

Kindermann finished third in Group 1, with 25 points from 14 games. They won seven, drew four, and lost three. The team is coming off a 1-0 away loss to Iranduba.

The team is still preparing for its debut in the Santa Catarina Championship and the Santa Catarina Open Games, where they represent Caçador's age group.

The teams have met only once in the history of the Brasileirão Feminino. In 2015, the first year of the partnership between Flamengo and Marinha, Kindermann was the opponent in the competition's debut. With two goals from Daniele at the Estádio Municipal de Caçador, the venue for Sunday's match, Kindermann won 2-0.
