After a hard-fought performance in the Brazilian Women's Football Championship, the Flamengo/Marinha players were given a few days off before returning to training for the rest of the season. Under coach Ricardo Abrantes, the Meninas da Gávea team fell in the quarterfinals of the competition and are awaiting the start of the State Championship.

"The season was well planned and executed, but unfortunately we underperformed, with a huge variation in performance between games," assessed the red-black coach.

Following the end of the Brasileirão, the red-and-blacks are awaiting the start dates for the Campeonato Carioca, which is scheduled to run from September to November. According to Ricardo Abrantes, the athletes will return to training for the second half of the season on July 24th.

At the end of the month, Flamengo/Marinha will continue its season plan and begin searching for new Meninas da Gávea. "A new call for applications for new players will be opened in July, and some of them will be evaluated at CEFAN between July 31st and August 4th. The coaching staff is looking for top-level athletes to join our team, making Flamengo even better and stronger," Ricardo concluded.
