Flamengo/Marinha won a big victory last Wednesday (4), when they beat Barcelona 18-0 in the Campeonato Carioca Feminino. Despite the positive result, players and coaching staff regretted the end of the duel at half-time, as the opposing team, which played with only eight athletes for 45 minutes, was not in a position to continue.

"Unfortunately, the game ended at halftime. Barcelona was a very brave team, as they came out with only eight players and didn't try to slow the game down. This is a problem we have in women's soccer, especially in Rio de Janeiro. We lack this incentive, this common sense. Many athletes still work and haven't set a schedule where matches are only on the weekends. Women's soccer is amateur, unfortunately, many of them can't stop working and weren't able to be in the game," analyzed coach Ricardo Abrantes.

"We managed to achieve a strong result thanks to all these factors, and we need to do our part. It's a championship match, with goal difference, top scorers, history, and the appreciation of women's football at stake. What we need is to come together to try to facilitate the games for the smaller teams, thus encouraging the sport. This cannot be a lack of motivation, because our main goal is to help the sport grow even more," the coach added.

Ten players have already scored goals for Flamengo/Marinha in this State Championship. Among them, Ju stands out for her high number of goals, ranking joint top scorer for Mais Querido and the competition alongside Flávia.

In 19 games this season, the number 28 has scored eight times, seven of them in this Carioca Championship alone. "We're working as if it were a preseason, already looking ahead to next year. Everything that's happened has been the result of my dedication, already thinking about 2018. I'm happy to be fighting to be one of the competition's top scorers," she said.

"We didn't expect much different in the Campeonato Carioca. We were surprised that the other team continued playing despite having fewer players. For us, a situation like this is bad, because we've been training hard all week. Coming here and only playing the first half is bad, because after that we have to do some additional training with the next match in mind," Ju concluded.

The next match for the Meninas da Gávea, valid for the penultimate round of the Carioca Feminino, will be against Portuguesa, on Saturday (7), at 15 pm, at CT Artsul.
