Last week, Flamengo/Marinha announced two more reinforcements for the 2019 season, adding four new names to the roster this year. With a strong start to the Brazilian Women's Championship, the team is aiming for even greater heights, aiming for a second title in the top national competition. Coach Ricardo Abrantes spoke exclusively to the official website about his expectations for the upcoming challenges and the formation of the red-and-black squad.

Assessment of the current squad: "We lost nine players, but we're bringing in five new reinforcements for the season (one hasn't been announced yet). Two of them have already played in this Brasileirão, and Carol Matos will undergo surgery. The other three players are arriving now, and we'll evaluate them gradually, but I believe the group has become stronger through unity, dedication, and, above all, family spirit."

Flamengo/Marinha currently boasts several athletes who have played for the Brazilian national teams, both senior and youth, including the players who arrived this year. "Of course, a time in Brazil helps a lot. We need to see how they adapt to the group, our training system, and our ideal game plan. However, we believe this experience and these new players will be a valuable asset," Ricardo analyzed.

Flamengo has the best attack and defense in the league at the start of the season. Furthermore, there were three intense matches, but important victories in all of them. For Ricardo Abrantes, the scenario is exactly what the Mais Querido wants. "Like Flamengo/Marinha, we can't think differently. The focus must be on winning titles at all times. Starting well gives the group confidence and the desire to achieve greater heights," the coach added.

Flamengo/Marinha returns to the field next Saturday (13), at 14 pm, in Gávea, as they host Audax-SP for the fourth round of the Brazilian Women's Football Championship. The match will be broadcast live on Twitter.
