In a game valid for the eighth round of the Brasileirão Feminino, Flamengo beat Bahia 1-0 on Saturday morning (22), in Gávea. Sole Jaimes scored the only goal of the match and her fifth in the championship. With the result, the Meninas da Gávea reached their seventh consecutive victory and took the provisional lead of the competition with 21 points.

The game
The Meninas da Gávea started the match controlling possession and exchanging passes in attack. And it didn't take long for them to open the scoring in Gávea. Just seven minutes in, Duda sent a beautiful pass to Jucinara on the left, who delivered a perfect low cross for Sole Jaimes to finish into the net: 1-0. The striker had already headed the ball in the previous play, but the referee ruled it offside. The Argentine center forward scored her fifth goal in the Brasileirão.

With an early lead, Flamengo continued to move the ball forward in an attempt to extend their lead. In stoppage time, Darlene fired a first-time shot from inside the box, but the ball hit the post. Flamengo almost scored their second goal. The first half ended with Flamengo winning and controlling possession.

After the break, the red-and-black team continued to dominate the attacking half, exchanging passes to try to create space in Bahia's defense. In the 11th minute, Mengão created a threat. Jucinara crossed into the box and Crivelari fired a first-time shot, but the ball went over the goal.

Around the 15th minute, Bahia attacked twice in a row and nearly tied the game. Despite their greater play, the Meninas da Gávea struggled with the final pass and finishing.

In the final stretch, Mais Querido tried to keep possession. In the 39th minute, Kaylaine Jr. took the lead and was brought down in the box. The referee awarded a penalty. The number 35 herself went to take the shot, but her shot went wide.

In the final minute, Gisseli received the ball just outside the box and struck hard. Darlene unleashed a powerful shot from the rebound, and the goalkeeper saved Bahia once again. No more talk in Gávea! Mengão secured their seventh consecutive victory and provisionally lead the competition.
