The Gávea Girls of the U-18 continue with a 100% success rate after participating in the 2020 Brazilian Championship, held at the beginning of the year. This Friday (18), the team beat Nova Cidade, in Nilópolis, by 7 to 0. Flávia (2), Naely (2), Ju Lopes, Letícia and Pimenta scored the goals.
The game
Applying pressure from the outset, Mengão quickly opened the scoring with a stunning goal. Midfielder Naely sent a free kick into the top corner: 1-0. The second goal was also beautiful. After a one-two in the middle, Ju Lopes received the ball from Mariana Fernandes and struck perfectly. The third goal came again from Naely's feet on a set piece.
Setting a strong pace, Mais Querido scored the fourth with the center forward Pimenta, who made his debut, headed in. Flávia scored two goals in quick succession to extend the lead. Midway through the second half, number 10 Letícia scored a cross-shot to make it seven. With the lead, Marcos Gaspar made some changes and tried new formations, but it ended like this: 7-0.
