The week of the Under-18's return after the Brasileirão competition in the category was concluded with a training match, against Bangu/Zico10, on the morning of this Saturday (18). The duel, held at CEFAN, ended 1-1 and the red-black goal was scored by midfielder Rayane, with a beautiful shot from outside the area.
The game
Testing a new formation, Mengão started the match taking the initiative and quickly created chances. In a well-worked play on the left flank, Flávia received the ball at the edge of the box, took a chance, and the ball went just wide. Ana Portugal then took a skillful free kick and nearly opened the scoring. Despite dominating, the Rubro-Negro team ended up conceding a goal from a set piece. Even at a disadvantage, the pressure continued until the final whistle of the first half, but to no avail.
After the break, with a few substitutions already made, the Mais Querido (Team of the Year) didn't compromise on its philosophy, maintaining the same rhythm, and was rewarded. Ana Laura crossed, the opposing defense cleared, and, on the rebound, Rayane fired a first-time shot into the corner: 1-1. After the equalizer, the Meninas da Gávea had good chances through Bruna and Giovanna. On the final play, Ana Portugal hit the post, and from the rebound, Malu shot hard, but the goalkeeper saved it on the line.
Mengão lineup
Alice; Larissa Baiana (Estefany), Lorena and Esther; Ana Laura (Giovanna), Naely (Rayane), Ju Lopes, Leticia (Bruna) and Ana Portugal; Flávia (Malu) and Vitória (Thalitinha).
Coach: Sergio Carnevale.
