In the second round of the second phase of the Brazilian Women's Under-18 Championship, Flamengo was defeated by Corinthians 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon (18), at the Sorocaba-SP CT. The red-black team needed at least a draw to take the fight for a place to the last round, when they face Santos. With the defeat, the Meninas da Gávea no longer have a chance of advancing to the next phase of the competition.

The game
Flamengo started the match by dominating the action. In the first minute, Duda Rodrigues found Pimenta in the penalty area, but the referee flagged the Flamengo striker for offside. In the fourth minute, after a free kick from the left, Naely sent in a dangerous cross, but the ball ended up in the hands of the opposing goalkeeper. In the ninth minute, Mari Fernandes was fouled just outside the box. Kaylana's shot deflected the ball off the wall. In the 4th minute, goalkeeper Alice made her first major save after a header from the Corinthians player.

As the match began to take a more serious turn, Corinthians opened the scoring with Dayse, after a scramble in the penalty area: 1-0. Flamengo attempted a comeback, but went into half-time losing 1-0.

The Gávea Girls came out swinging in the second half. In the 8th minute, Maria Pec lined up but had her cross blocked. Following a corner, Dio headed wide. In the 9th minute, Ana Laura performed a miracle, blocking the opposing striker's shot. Subsequently, Ana Laura and Dio were replaced, making way for Basílio and Ana Portugal, respectively.

In the 14th minute, Pimenta came close on a run down the left, but was blocked before she could finish. The introduction of Letícia and Jaqueline in place of Naely and Mari Fernandes gave the team final shape. After the timeout, Pimenta appeared once again with a dangerous header. In the 31st minute, Flamengo had their best chance of the game. From a corner kick taken by Maria Pec, Letícia headed the ball into the corner, forcing the Corinthians goalkeeper to perform a miracle.

The Girls from Gávea fought until the end, but as a result the red-black team no longer has a chance to qualify in Group H.
