In the first round of the second phase of the Brazilian Women's Under-18 Championship, Flamengo lost to Internacional 1-0 on Monday afternoon (16), at CT Sorocaba-SP. Seeking recovery in the championship, the Meninas da Gávea will face the Corinthians team in the next round.

The game
The first half began with both teams closely studying each other. Internacional held the ball more and attacked mostly down the left flank. The Meninas da Gávea, on the other hand, relied on quick counterattacks to surprise the Colorado team.

The Mais Querido tried to come out on top, but struggled to penetrate the opposing defense, which was well-positioned. With few chances created and a very tight game in midfield, the teams went into halftime with the score at 0-0.

At the start of the second half, Flamengo attacked well with Duda Rodrigues, who struck hard on goal, but the Colorado goalkeeper kicked it out for a corner. The Meninas da Gávea returned with a more attacking approach and were frequently attacking. One positive point worth highlighting was the strong performance of Flamengo's defense, which managed to neutralize Internacional's attacking moves.

But in the 22nd minute, after a quick counterattack, Inter opened the scoring with Carol Gil: 1-0. The red-black team tried to equalize until the last minute, but was defeated in the debut of the second phase of the championship.

Next appointment
The Meninas da Gávea return to the field next Wednesday (18) to face Corinthians, at 15:30 pm, at CT do Sorocaba. The match is valid for the second round of the second phase of the Brazilian Under-18.
