U-20s beat Goiás 6-0 again and remain undefeated in the Brasileirão
The girls from Gávea deliver another rout in the competition and remain top of the group

On Tuesday night (10), Mengão took another step towards qualifying for the second phase of the Brazilian Women's Under-20 Championship. With another consistent performance, the red-black team thrashed Goiás again by 6-0, reached 10 points and remained at the top of group E. The goals were scored by Maria Peck, Duda Rodrigues, Kaylane, Pimenta, Cris and Mariana Fernandes.
The game
Repeating the pattern of the previous two matches, Mais Querido opened the scoring early. In the fourth minute, Maria Peck received a pass from Kaylane, burst into the box at speed, and made it 1-0. In the twelfth minute, Duda Rodrigues entered the box, dribbled past the goalkeeper, and doubled the lead. Confident and composed, Celso Silva's team scored the third in the 24th minute: Kaylane pounced on the goalkeeper's rebound and hit a stunning shot into the top corner. In the 36th minute, Ana Laura won the ball on the right, forcing the opposing goalkeeper to perform a miracle, but the ball fell to Pimenta, who made no mistake: 4-0. There was still time for Cris to add the fifth before halftime.
With a large lead, the Meninas da Gávea started the second half creating several chances and stopping the goalkeeper. After a few changes, the team pressed hard, hitting the crossbar twice, and never letting the momentum drop. The sixth and final goal came almost in stoppage time. Anny Marabá hit the post, but Mariana Fernandes was there to convert. Another victory and the lead secured.
