On Monday morning (6), at CEFAN, Mengão's U-20 team beat Rio Athletic 4-0 and secured their place in the semi-final stage of the third edition of the Unifoot Diamante Pro Cup. The red-black goals were scored by Mariana Fernandes, Duda Basílio, Anny Marabá and Ju Lopes. Now, the team will face LDDC/Rio de Janeiro, on a date to be confirmed.

The game

The Meninas da Gávea took the initiative from the start and went on the attack. The pressure soon resulted in a goal. In the 16th minute, Pimentinha crossed, Maria Peck shot over the defense, and, on the rebound, Mariana Fernandes fired into the corner: 1-0. With the advantage, the Mais Querido created chances through Kaylane Júnior and Ana Laura, but went into halftime without changing the score again.

In the second half, Celso Silva made changes, and the team stepped up the pressure even more and didn't let the pace drop. In the 12th minute, Kethilyn launched a perfect pass, and Duda Basílio finished perfectly: 2-0. In the 27th minute, Peck was brought down in the box, and the referee signaled. Anny Marabá sent the ball past the goalkeeper: 3-0. In the final minutes, Laís delivered a beautiful pass to Ju Lopes, who went one-on-one and sealed the rout: 4-0.
