On Saturday afternoon (24), Flamengo fought hard, created good opportunities, but was beaten by Botafogo 1-0, at Caio Martins, in the first leg of the semi-final of the U-20 Women's Carioca Championship. The return match will be next week, at Gávea.

The game

Without abandoning its core characteristic, the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) team started the match on the opponent's half, but failed to convert any chances. After the technical timeout, Celso Silva's team nearly scored with Cris's shot from outside the box and threatened with Diovanna on the left flank. Despite their persistence, the score remained unchanged until halftime.

On the return leg, Mariana Fernandes received a great pass from Kaylaine Júnior and failed to capitalize. Soon after, Botafogo took the lead with Rangel's aerial play. The deficit forced the Red-Blacks to press even harder and create numerous chances. In the final stretch, Anny Marabá scored, but the referee flagged for offside. The final act of the match was a shot wide by Maria Peck. Now, the team needs a home win to secure a spot in the final.
