On Thursday afternoon (16), Mengão beat LDDC/Rio de Janeiro 2-1 at the Vila Olímpica in Duque de Caxias, securing their place in the Unifoot Diamante Pro Cup final. The red-black goals were scored by forwards Pimenta and Anny Marabá. Their opponent in the final will be LGD/Karanba, who beat América in the penalty shootout.

The game
The match began with the Meninas da Gávea controlling the action, but creating few opportunities. In the 15th minute, Pimentinha took a shot, but the goalkeeper saved. After that, the game became lukewarm, with few opportunities for either side. In the final stretch of the first half, Flamengo returned to their rhythm and pressed until they scored the first goal. In the 47th minute, Pimentinha crossed and Pimenta headed powerfully to open the scoring: 1-0.

In the second half, the Mais Querido continued to search for more goals. In the 14th minute, Maria Peck made a good play down the right flank, but ended up shooting wide. In the 27th minute, after a counterattack, LDDC/Rio de Janeiro tied the score with Rafinha: 1-1.

After conceding the equalizer, the Meninas da Gávea went all out in search of the winning goal. In the 34th minute, Kethilyn took a shot from outside the box, and the ball nearly flew over the goalkeeper. After much persistence, Mengão scored the second in the 47th minute. Naely took a perfect free kick, and Anny Marabá headed it in to seal the 2-1 victory for the red-and-blacks.
