In strong preparation, Rubro-Negro is in group C and will face opponents from group D in the first phase; debut will be on Tuesday (14), against Fortaleza

In recent days, the CBF released the schedule and regulations for the Brazilian Women's Under-20 Championship. Flamengo was placed in Group C, alongside Botafogo, Cresspom, Fluminense, and Minas Brasília, but will face only opponents from Group D in the group stage: Botafogo-PB, Cefama-MA, ESMAC-PA, Fortaleza, and UDA-AL. In this new format, the teams face each other at home. and no longer in a single location, as in previous years.
Some things haven't changed from 2022: matches continue to be played in home and away matches, and the top two teams from each group advance to the second round, also divided into groups. After that, it becomes a knockout round.
In preparation since the beginning of January at CEFAN, the team debuted this season in the Copa Rio, a professional tournament, against Botafogo. On that occasion, the duel ended in a 0-0 draw, however, the Meninas da Gávea had a great performance. The debut in the national competition will be next Tuesday (14), against Fortaleza, at 15 pm, at home.
"Expectations for the competition are very high. This year, in a different format, we'll have home and away games. This creates more competitiveness and adds value to the sport. We understand the responsibility of representing Flamengo and are aware of the work done with the committee. We trust our potential and will always strive for the top," said captain Mariana Fernandes in a quick chat.
