2021 Women's State Championship Table Released
The Girls from Gávea's first match will be against Duque de Caxias, on September 25th
By Flamengo Communication - inThe Rio de Janeiro State FERJ (Rio de Janeiro State Federation) has released the rules and complete schedule for the Women's Carioca Championship. As in the last edition, held earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the competition will feature a Guanabara Cup (first stage), semifinals, and finals. Twelve teams will participate.
Five-time champions (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019), the Mais Querido begins its campaign on September 25th, against Duque de Caxias, at home. The team will also face Bangu, Barcelona, Boavista, Botafogo, Cabofriense, Fluminense, Portuguesa, Viva Rio/Perólas Negras, Serra Macaense, and Vasco. All teams will face each other in a single round, with the top four advancing to the semifinals, which will be played in a single match. The final will follow the same format.
