After the 3-0 victory against Ponte Preta on Sunday (2), at the José Bastos Padilha stadium, in Gávea, defender Tânia Maranhão evaluated the Flamengo/Marinha match, in addition to commenting on the next challenge against Rio Preto.

"We won, but we weren't convincing, I told the girls that. We need to know that. The championship is just starting, but we can't have the same setbacks we had. We're not used to losing two games in a row, or conceding goals. The girls were very down, but we have to lift our heads. Were the three points important? Of course, wonderful. But we need to improve," she analyzed.

Flamengo's next challenge is against Rio Preto, on Thursday (6), at the Anísio Haddad stadium. Thinking about the match, Tânia stated that the focus is to win. "Now we have Rio Preto, who are undefeated. We talked and we will work this week to play a good game there and, at the very least, always fight for victories from now on," commented the captain.

Having played women's soccer for 23 years, Tânia Maranhão has witnessed the sport's changes over time. The defender welcomes the new Brasileirão format and hopes women will gain more attention in the country.

"The CBF is to be congratulated. I'm really enjoying it, and it's evolving a lot. Thank God women's soccer is on the right track. The Brazilian league now has two groups, Series A and Series B. For us, the squad is a bit reduced, and it's tiring, but some good girls are making it through Flamengo's tryouts with Marinha. That's what matters from now on," she concluded.
