Coach and players talk about expectations for the Carioca final
Dany Helena, Larissa and Ricardo Abrantes comment on the decision against Duque de Caxias

This Saturday (24), at 15pm, Flamengo/Marinha faces Duque de Caxias in the grand final of the 2018 Rio de Janeiro Women's Football Championship. Before the match, forwards Larissa and Dany Helena, as well as coach Ricardo Abrantes, spoke to the official website about their expectations for the game at the Moça Bonita stadium, in Bangu.
"As captain, I always try to instill as much confidence as possible in our quest for the State title, which will be an important achievement for the club. We trained hard to iron out some final details, and coach Ricardo says that if we put in the work, the title will be a reward for the days we took away from our families to do what we love," said Larissa.
With 18 goals this season, forward Dany Helena is aiming for her first title with Flamengo. "We expect to continue having a good year. We had good results at the Military World Cup and the Brazilian Championship. We're happy to be competing in another final and we know how difficult the match will be, but we're going after the Rio title to close out the season with a flourish," commented Dany.
"Expectations are high despite it being a difficult game, as Duque de Caxias is strong and is always a very well-organized opponent, coming off two penalty shootouts. We hope to win in regulation time. Flamengo will play as they have all year: a team that looks for goals, dominates and holds the ball, and always strives for victories with great determination. We want to celebrate the Navy and Flamengo, which we represent with great passion. This year we were Military World Champions in Texas, third place in the Brazilian Championship, and, if possible, a fourth title with Flamengo in the Carioca," added coach Ricardo Abrantes.
