Diego Alves highlights the importance of the game against San José and praises the squad's goalkeepers

With an eye on the clash against San José-BOL, valid for the fourth round of the Conmebol Libertadores group stage, Flamengo continues preparing at Ninho do Urubu. Before the last training session aiming at the duel on Thursday (11), goalkeeper Diego Alves gave a press conference and spoke about the expectations for the match.
"The altitude was a real problem there. I think it will be a different game, I hope it will be a little more relaxed. It's a crucial match for qualifying. We got an important win in Bolivia, and then we managed to get three more points against LDU. Unfortunately, we didn't manage that against Peñarol. It's an extremely important game, and everyone is definitely thinking about winning."
The number 1 said that even though it is a game against the last placed team in the group, caution is needed on Thursday.
"If everyone thinks it's going to be easy, that Flamengo will overtake them like you said, but we have a prepared opponent, there was a coaching change, and a Libertadores game is never easy. We can't let ourselves be carried away by the emotions and desires of the outside world; we have to be cautious in this regard. We must be aware of our responsibility. We are the ones who have to seek the result with great caution and respect."
Diego Alves also took advantage of his conversation with journalists to highlight the quality of the goalkeepers who are part of the red-and-black squad.
"That's what we're there for. The goalkeepers are always well prepared to help the team whenever needed. We have great professionals at the club; both Wagner and Nielsen are excellent. They've been demonstrating their talent since the beginning of the year, keeping us well prepared. Not just me, but César and Gabriel (Batista), and if Thiago had the chance to play, he would do the same. Our job is to help. Of course, sometimes it doesn't go the way we want, but we're happy to do our part."
