Friendship is worth more than title.
Flamengo's forwards reject ego clashes in the fight for a starting spot.
By From the official website team - inDiego Maurício, Deivid, Val Baiano, and Diogo. Four players for two (or three) spots. A fierce but healthy competition, and among friends. That's how the competition for a starting spot in Flamengo's attack goes. Each with their own qualities, each with their own areas to improve, but all cheering for their teammates and supporting each other to help the team from Gávea. And it is with this spirit that these players begin another week of hard work at Ninho do Urubu.
With a full week to train before the match against Ceará next Wednesday (November 03.11rd) in Fortaleza, the Flamengo players still don't know who will start against "Vozão". But they say that, regardless of who is chosen, they will give their all during training and will be hoping for another chance to score against their opponents.
"Before, when nobody was scoring goals, we talked a lot and tried to give each other a lot of support. Now that everyone has broken their scoring drought, it won't be any different. We're going to maintain this good relationship, we're going to keep trying to help each other so that Flamengo can grow even more," said Diogo, who scored the equalizing goal against Corinthians midweek.
Val Baiano agrees. For the number 9, more important than fighting for positions is good relationships both on and off the field. After all, without individualism and ego clashes, everyone wins.
"It's this friendship that matters. Because then, we'll perform better on the field, and the club itself will be the one to benefit," he analyzed.
