Players believe the team needs time to perform at its best with the arrival of reinforcements

The arrivals of Diogo and Deivid were widely celebrated by everyone at Flamengo. Strikers of undeniable quality, the red-and-black reinforcements played their first game together this Sunday (September 05.09th). Neither scored, despite both showing great desire and leaving the field to applause from the fans. And a factor that proved to be predominant in this match was the lack of chemistry, a price that a team that has been rebuilding itself must pay.
Experienced midfielder Petkovic knows the team needs to get to know each other a little better. This Sunday, for example, David, who hadn't played in a while, Diogo, who's back from injury, Renato, who also arrived at Gávea this transfer window, and Deivid, a debutant, played.
"Our team is lacking chemistry. We've had a lot of changes and a lot of new players have arrived. We have a different formation. Furthermore, no player is leaving the field without giving their best," he observed.
The Flamengo's number 10, however, explained that the team isn't lacking in dedication. He lamented the draw with Santos, but praised the dedication and quality of football that Flamengo displayed this weekend.
"Flamengo is dedicated, wanting and giving its best. But unfortunately the result didn't come. We were trying, but the ball ended up not going in. The team played a good game, but unfortunately it wasn't how we imagined. In football there are always unexpected things," he concluded.
