Revenge is a dish best served cold, which is why Flamengo waited until the end of the qualifying round to face Universidad de Chile again in the Libertadores quarterfinals. Motivated to change the course of the group stage, when they drew at home and were defeated in Santiago, the red-and-blacks see this series as a golden opportunity.

"It's a golden opportunity for us to reverse those negative results from the first phase. We know what we did wrong. We need to stay focused throughout the game, because their team has quality and is very quick on the counterattack," said defender Ronaldo Angelim.

To be able to eliminate "La U", the number 4 believes that Flamengo needs to pay attention to Chilean counterattacks.

"We need to be more careful against their team. In the game here at Maracanã, for example, we conceded a counterattack goal and another in the 47th minute of the second half. That can't happen. Especially when playing a game where the rules favor away goals," he said.

Coach Rogério Lourenço agrees and, without analyzing individual performances, points out that the team needs to put into practice what was discussed in recent days.

"We can't make the same mistakes as in the other two matches. These aren't individual mistakes. I'm making an overall assessment. We need to learn from what we've been through. We've seen how they play and we want to take advantage of that. That's the idea. Now, let's try to put it into practice," he concluded.
