Camacho celebrates his starting role in the first training session of the preseason and dreams of establishing himself in the second half of the year

The young players who emerged from Flamengo's youth academy have earned a place in the Flamengo squad for the second half of the season. Camacho and Paulo Sérgio are prime examples of this, as seen in the Flamengo team's first collective training session during the World Cup offseason.
The 20-year-old midfielder played in Flamengo's last four games before the Brazilian Championship was suspended for the World Cup. He started three of them and provided one assist. Known as Rogério Lourenço since the youth teams, Camacho hopes to continue training well to remain in the Rubro-Negro's first team.
"It's important to work hard and always have the confidence of the coach and my teammates. I'm happy with the opportunities, but nothing is set in stone. This group has a lot of quality, there's still a lot to do, and we know reinforcements need to be brought in. I believe that by training well, I'll be able to establish myself on the team," he said.
In last Friday's training session, Camacho formed the starting midfield alongside Maldonado, Willians, and Michael. Despite his youth, he believes he has what it takes to establish himself in the team and hopes that the offseason in Itu will be beneficial not only for him but for the entire group.
"These days are very important and I believe that the trip to Itu will also be crucial for the entire group. We really need this type of work for the team to return to its best form for the game against Botafogo," he added.
The red-black squad will return this Monday (27.06), at 9 am, in Gávea, and will do its last training session in Rio de Janeiro before heading to Itu, where it will carry out the second part of the preseason.
