The details of Flamengo's offseason have already been finalized, and the Rubro-Negro coaching staff expects it to be very beneficial for the group. After these first days in Gávea, the squad will travel to Itu on the 28th, where they will train until July 8th. The logistics are still undecided, but it's certain that this period will be crucial for the players.
Coach Rogério Lourenço believes the team has arrived in good shape after the vacation and is confident that the time to work will yield results.
"The players arrived in good shape. It was an important period for them to rest. That's crucial. The first half of the year was very intense, with the Carioca, the Libertadores, and the Brazilian Championship. Time to work is necessary for everyone," he said.
The red-black commander knows that there is a need to hire reinforcements and reveals that it would be better to have the group formed before the trip, however, he is counting on the work of the board to have the squad in his hands.
"We know that the issue of players arriving is complicated. It could be tomorrow or three days before the game. Ideally, we would have the entire group ready to work for 15 or 20 days, but Flamengo is undergoing a restructuring and we have to be patient and continue working with what we have. With Zico's arrival, I believe things will move more quickly," he said, taking the opportunity to praise the first reinforcement of the new "Zico Era": defender Jean.
"He has a lot of quality and is a player who has played for great teams. It was a great signing, but it doesn't preclude the arrival of another defender. We have five defenders today, but if you're thinking about playing with three defenders, you need at least four. So, perhaps one more would be needed. It wouldn't be excessive. Fabrício is still a matter of agreement, because his rights are tied to a company, and we also have to see if he stays," he concluded.
