For work, Fla embarks for Fortaleza

In the middle of the long weekend, the red-black team goes to the capital of Ceará thinking only about the three points

While airports across the country are packed with tourists heading out to enjoy the All Souls' Day holiday, Tuesday (November 02.11) in Rio de Janeiro, the Flamengo delegation is taking a flight to one of the most popular destinations for Brazilians during this sunny season: Fortaleza. But the Flamengo fans are not going to the capital of Ceará for leisure, but for work.

The Gávea team trains during the holiday and faces Ceará at Castelão the following day at 22 p.m. Accustomed to not having holidays and working while friends and strangers are enjoying their days off, the players know that these are the hurdles of the job.

"It's part of it, right? Everyone's used to it. While some are going to the beach, planning their vacation, we're training. We're going to Fortaleza wanting to come back with three points in the table. That's what matters to us," says experienced midfielder Correa.

Flamengo will not have any days off during the week. The team will not train on Thursday (11/04), it is true, but they will have the wear and tear of the trip in the afternoon. On Friday (11/05), the group will return, and on Saturday (11/06) they will train at Ninho do Urubu before traveling to Volta Redonda, where, on Sunday (11/07), they will face Atlético-PR.

"We have to try to make the most of it when possible. We usually have Mondays off during the week, but weekends are tough. But that's the price you pay. We have to work," he added.
