The comeback of a five-time world champion

Kleberson recovers well from shoulder injury and returns to the national team against Ireland

Kleberson is truly a model of resilience. And he's proven it more than once wearing the Flamengo jersey. After a long time away from the Brazilian national team, the midfielder returned to the yellow jersey last season. However, he suffered a shoulder injury and ended up missing the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship. But he didn't complain, kept working, and returned to the Gávea team at the beginning of the year with a vengeance. The result? Another call-up.

This Tuesday, the player was called up by coach Dunga for a friendly against Ireland, to be held on March 2nd, and he was very happy with the opportunity and thanked the Brazilian National Team coach for this chance.

\

"I'm grateful for this opportunity, but I know there's still a long way to go before the World Cup. I hope to make the most of this opportunity. I'll work hard until the World Cup to be remembered once again," he explained.

The shoulder injury he sustained in his last call-up didn't dampen Kleberson's spirits. On the contrary, Flamengo's number 15 says he's even more motivated because of it.

\

"I was out of the national team for a long time, I chased after it, and I'm back. Unfortunately, that injury happened, but players are susceptible to that. This problem made me stronger and more motivated to fight again, and now I'm getting that reward," he said.

To further impress coach Dunga, Kleberson dreams of a strong performance in next Ash Wednesday's match against Botafogo, a Guanabara Cup semifinal. But he warns: the match won't be easy.

\

"On the other hand, Joel knows Flamengo's team very well, so it's going to be a very interesting classic, different from the last few decisions. The teams are also a little different, and I believe that the Guanabara Cup finals, with the four big clubs, will all be very balanced," he concluded.
