The Brazilian title won on Sunday has already earned Flamengo players individual awards this Monday. Serbian Petkovic was the first. A great organizer of the Flamengo midfield, Petkovic won Placar Magazine's Silver Ball as the competition's best midfielder. Soon after, it was Adriano's turn, the Brasileirão's top scorer alongside Diego Tardelli with 19 goals, who was awarded best center forward at the same ceremony, which was broadcast live on ESPN Brasil. The Emperor also took home the Golden Ball as the championship's best player.

Commentator Paulo Vinícius Coelho analyzed Petkovic's importance to the red-and-black team: "I doubted Petkovic when he arrived. He had been out for six months, almost at the end of his career, but he arrived and fixed up Flamengo's midfield. He was responsible for the distribution and organization of the team. He was Flamengo's rhythm. Accelerating, cadenced...", observed PVC, whose speech was endorsed by Paulo Calçade: "I didn't expect him to be so important, but he proved to be an intelligent player and helped Flamengo a lot."

Delighted with the recognition and achievement, Pet dedicated the trophy to his teammates. It was the third time Pet had won the award, having previously won with Vasco and Fluminense, but had yet to win with his beloved Brazilian club, Flamengo. "I'm very grateful to everyone, because 2009 was the year for me. I'm very happy to have returned to Flamengo, and I want to thank this group very much, because they were wonderful to me. I have a star. This award is for these more than 30 warriors who gave me so much strength at Flamengo. I also thank my agent for this difficult negotiation, which I never imagined would be so great. We aimed for the top four, but then we went after this title, which, I'm sure, will be talked about for a long time to come," he celebrated.

Pet was awarded first, but the afternoon belonged to Adriano. Praised by all, the Emperor was named the best striker, top scorer, and best player of the championship. After organizing a huge party to celebrate his sixth title after the match against Grêmio, Adriano didn't attend the festivities in São Paulo, but his agent, Gilmar Rinaldi, represented him: "Adriano unfortunately couldn't come, but he thanked everyone. Today was a day of celebration, he went to celebrate with his friends, he's very proud, but he can't attend," said the agent, who acknowledged that the player has many offers from abroad, but confirmed that the Emperor's destination is not yet decided.
