Adriano remains out of the Flamengo squad. The striker trained normally this Monday: he put on his boots, went to the field, did physical exercises, ran laps around the pitch, and also trained with a ball. However, the striker himself opted to sit out Wednesday's match against Universidad Católica.

According to the red-black medical department, he would not be in ideal playing condition, and therefore, after a conversation with the technical committee, it was decided that the number 10 would not take the field against the Chileans.

"Adriano is training, as everyone saw today, he is no longer in the Medical Department, but he is still not feeling confident for Wednesday's game. He preferred to improve during the week for Sunday," explained the red-black doctor Marcio Tannure.

During the week, he will work with the rest of the group and the idea is that he will face Botafogo on Sunday in the final of the Taça Rio.

"He came back and didn't do the rehabilitation work we normally do, so it would be too early to return on Wednesday. He's feeling well, he worked today, and he didn't feel any pain," the doctor added.

Defender Ronaldo Angelim, in turn, hopes that his teammate recovers in time to play in the derby.

"A player of Adriano's caliber worries any defender. The sooner he can be available to help us, the better," he said.

Michael out – Coach Andrade will have another absence on Wednesday. Midfielder Michael is also unfit to play due to a thigh injury.

"Michael felt pain in the adductor of his right thigh after yesterday's game, and we preferred to leave him here this week, to treat and see how the pain evolves so we know if he will be able to play," he added.
