Flamengo will be without Adriano for Thursday's (08.04/16) match against Universidad de Chile, at 11.04 pm, at Maracanã. The Emperor is still recovering from lower back pain and, although his condition has improved and he did physical work in the gym this Wednesday, the player is out of the match. Furthermore, he is doubtful for Sunday's (XNUMX/XNUMX) classic against Vasco.

Since training last Saturday (03.04), the striker has been complaining of back pain. Adriano, besides this Wednesday, did not train with the group on Monday or Tuesday, only undergoing physiotherapy sessions. Therefore, according to the red-black doctor Marcelo Soares, the Emperor will not be able to take the field this Thursday.

"He's getting better, he worked today (Wednesday), but he's still not fit to play. Tomorrow (Thursday), he won't play. For the derby, we'll see if there's enough time for him to recover," he explained.

With 12 goals in 11 matches, Adriano has been one of Flamengo's standout players this season. However, this will be the second match in the Libertadores that the Red-Blacks will be without the talent of their Emperor. Defender Fabrício believes he will be sorely missed on the field.

"He's the Emperor, isn't he? So he's always missed. He's a very important guy for our team. But I'm sure whoever comes in will deliver and help the team a lot," said the defender.
