According to mathematicians, to avoid relegation in the Brazilian Championship, the team needs to accumulate at least 45 points. Working from this perspective, Flamengo needs at least five points in the next six games to definitively eliminate any possibility of entering the relegation zone. And the Flamengo fans want to do it as quickly as possible.

Midfielder Renato acknowledges that the team has drawn too many matches in the Brasileirão (16 draws so far), but believes that each result should be analyzed individually. Against Ceará, for example, the player values ​​the point gained.

"In some games we had the taste of victory and ended up drawing. But that's part of the game. Football is unpredictable. At least we're accumulating points. Without some of these draws, we would be in a worse situation. We have to value them, especially the draw against Ceará. We gave them a hard time," said the player, noting that the team has been playing well in recent rounds.

"We have to think positively. Taking a point from Ceará in Fortaleza is difficult. We hope to have better luck in the next game, at home, against a tough opponent. Against Ceará, our team played like Flamengo. We were ahead twice, but we allowed the equalizer due to bad luck," he observed.

Renato further explained that Flamengo's objective is to leave the relegation zone behind as soon as possible, so they can focus solely on securing a spot in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana.

"Our goal is to get out of this unpleasant situation as soon as possible. We don't want to stay near the relegation zone, and we need to qualify for the Copa Sudamericana. That's the plan Vanderlei is giving us," he concluded.
