In tune with good humor

If it depends on their good humor, the rapport between Diogo and Deivid will be quick. At the press conference introducing the new attacking duo, held in the Salão Nobre da Gávea, the two joked about the age difference between them. While Deivid, 30, has a 12-year career, has played for nine clubs and won seven major titles, Diogo, 23, is only in his third year as a starter and with only his third club.
Asked if he had ever faced Diogo, Deivid responded with good humor, saying that when he was leaving Joinville to play for Lecce, in Italy, in 1999, Diogo was still taking his first steps in football.
"We never ended up playing together. When I started, Diogo was still a baby tooth. So, when I left Brazil, he started playing for Portuguesa," he said.
Diogo didn't let it go and counterattacked. According to him, Deivid is much older. Despite this, the young striker assured that he has seen many of his new teammate's goals on television.
"Deivid is very old. I haven't faced him. I've just watched a lot of his games on television," he said.
This Tuesday (24.08), Diogo should already be part of the squad, while Deivid heads to Turkey, where he will resolve personal issues before returning to Flamengo next Friday (27.08).
