Now it's Diego Maurício's turn

The main change to Flamengo's lineup for the second preseason training match in Itu is in attack. Coach Rogério Lourenço has already demonstrated that his priority before the return to the Brasileirão on the 14th is to improve the attack. Therefore, he has been testing possibilities in recent days. The player who should get a chance in the match against Ituano this Wednesday (July 07.07th) is young Diego Maurício.

At 19, the striker has been gaining traction since Rogério took over the first team, but he's being treated with extreme caution, as he's still young and considered a gem in the Rubro-Negro youth academy. Therefore, coach Rogério Lourenço is urging caution when evaluating the player.

"This is the time to give Diego a chance. I've already started with Paulo Sérgio in recent training sessions, and now I'm going to give Diego the same chance. We need reinforcements, yes, but we're betting on whoever's here. We have a quality squad, and they'll certainly deliver," he said.

Defender Ronaldo Angelim, one of the most experienced players in the group, knows that the squad needs reinforcements, but he also shows confidence in the quality of the red-and-black group.

"Everyone knows we need to strengthen the group. It's a tough championship, we need a bigger squad, but the players here are good and can help in the period until the reinforcements are regularized, and now is the time to instill confidence," he added.
