After watching the Red-Blacks' victory in the Copa do Brasil, midfielder Allan was officially introduced at Ninho do Urubu as Flamengo's newest signing for this season. The 26-year-old, who signed a contract with the club until December 2027, will wear the number 21 jersey. Check out some excerpts from the interview:

Possibility of debuting against Atlhetico
 "I had a serious injury and was out for four months. Today I'm 100%, but I need to get back into shape and match fitness, which is more important, but that can only be achieved by playing. So the anxiety is high on both sides. If it were up to me, I would have already gone to Saturday's game, but I decided to hold off, so that, God willing, I can go into Wednesday at a high level."

Relationship with Sampaoli
"He's a coach I admire greatly. I had the opportunity to work with him in 2020. He taught me a lot, and I learned a lot from him. Having this opportunity to work with him again is spectacular, and I'm a fan of his, there's nothing to say. I defend him when he's criticized. I came to add value. He knows my potential, I know what I can offer him, and I think it will be a good combination—Sampaoli, Allan, and the whole team."

Tactical question
"Regardless of position, I can play another role. I'm a defensive midfielder by trade, but nothing stops me from playing in other roles. I'm here to help Flamengo. Wherever they put me, I'll give my all. I'll represent the nation on the field."

If the fight for titles was the main reason for coming to Flamengo
"Not only that, of course that was one of the factors; there's no way I wouldn't want to play here. The team is wonderful, winning titles and gaining visibility, which is what I aspire to be called up for, so being here brings me closer. There are countless factors that made me come here, which didn't make me think twice."
