Experienced defender Álvaro missed the Fla-Flu clash as he was serving a suspension for receiving his third yellow card in the match against Internacional. For the next match in the Brazilian Championship, on Wednesday against Vitória, the number 14 is expected to return to the central defensive partnership with Ronaldo Angelim.

"I really missed yesterday because I was playing my first Fla-Flu match and didn't have that opportunity. But our main goal is to reach the top four, and we'll keep fighting for it.
