Flamengo may be without defender Álvaro until the end of the Guanabara Cup. The Flamengo defender was charged by the TJD under Article 254, which concerns violent plays, for a hard foul committed on a Caxias player in the Carioca's opening match. He was immediately sent off for the play and now faces a six-match suspension. However, the club's lawyer doesn't believe he'll be punished.

According to the match report, Álvaro allegedly tackled the opponent and ended up hitting him. Defense attorney Michel Asseff Filho explained what he expects from the defender's trial:

"We'll see if there's any flaw in the complaint and the athlete's intentions. It's important to see if there was any lack of discipline on his part or if what happened was simply a foul in the game," Assef Filho said.
