Álvaro trains among the starters
The defender will be Flamengo's new addition for tomorrow's match against Santo André in the Brazilian Championship.
By Flamengo Archive - inFlamengo's squad returned to training this Friday afternoon in Gávea. Ahead of tomorrow's match against Santo André at Maracanã, coach Andrade led a collective training session to finalize the team's details.
The big news was the inclusion of defender Álvaro in the starting lineup. Regularized with the CBF, the player formed a central defense with Ronaldo Angelim and is confirmed for the match. Andrade named the starting lineup as follows: Bruno; Léo Moura, Álvaro, Ronaldo Angelim, and Everton; Lenon, Airton, Fierro, and Petkovic; Zé Roberto and Denis Marques. The reserves trained with: Diego, Rafael Galhardo, Welinton, David, and Jorbison; Rômulo, Maldonado; Guilherme Camacho and Erick Flores; Maxi and Bruno Mezenga.
After the training session, Andrade said he was confident Álvaro would have a good debut.
"I spoke with Álvaro, and he told me he's in good physical shape. He made himself available, and I thought it was important to start him. He's a great, experienced defender and will be a huge help to us," said the coach, who confirmed Maldonado's place on the bench.
