Alvim: "Every game for Flamengo is special"
The player could make his third consecutive start for Flamengo and promises total dedication.
By From the official website team - inRodrigo Alvim, from Rio Grande do Sul, returns to the city of Porto Alegre this midweek in a position many dream of: as a starter for Flamengo. With Juan still sidelined due to injury, Alvim is expected to start his third consecutive game among the starting eleven and is excited about this opportunity to wear the sacred jersey. A Flamengo supporter, he promises great commitment in the fight for another victory.
"Every time I step onto the field wearing the Flamengo jersey, I feel a special sensation. Wearing this jersey is a unique thing, and I will always dedicate myself fully to achieving victories," he said in an interview with Flamengo's official website.
The full-back has also proven to be a lucky charm. In his first game as a starter in this sequence, the team from Gávea beat Prudente away from home, ending a run of seven games without a win. Then, they drew with league leaders Fluminense. Now, Alvim hopes for another positive result.
"It was four points in two games. A good record, but one we have to maintain. We are in a complicated situation, we have a great responsibility and we need to continue like this to make the run we so desperately want in the competition. The group is strong and we are proving it. I am happy with this opportunity, but the most important thing is to get the wins," observed the player, who says that the special support he will have in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul is the same as throughout Brazil: the Flamengo fans.
"It's good to be in my city, of course it's different playing in Porto Alegre, but I can say that the special support I'll have is from Flamengo, who always support us a lot and will be there in large numbers once again, for sure. They will push us towards victory," he concluded.
Praise - Coach Silas trusts in Rodrigo Alvim's potential and is betting on the left-back's success in a Flamengo shirt. Satisfied, he praised the player's performance against Fluminense, when Alvim managed to neutralize Mariano, one of Fluminense's main offensive weapons.
\"We have to give Rodrigo Alvim some encouragement. Many people think it's easy to come in and play, but he was lacking rhythm and is regaining it now. For example, I think he had a good game against Fluminense. The goals we conceded didn't come from that side. Mariano, who has been a standout in the Brasileirão, didn't create any chances," he said.
